Boeing is one of the largest commercial jet manufacturers in the world. Boeing has its head quarters at Arlington, Virginia, United States. Boeing was founded in 1916 and was earlier known as Pacific Aero Products Co and this company was headquartered in Seattle, Washington, USA. Boeing makes 707, 717, 717, 727, 737, 747, 757, 767, 777 and the 787 Dreamliner. They have sold close to 20,000 of these planes. They also make fighter jets, helicopters and space crafts. Close to 100,000 people work with Boeing globally.

Airbus is also one of the largest commercial jet manufacturers in the world. Airbus was founded in 1970 and its current headquarters is at Blagnac, France. Airbus products range from the single-aisle A320 Family (composed of the A318, A319, A320 and A321) to the widebody A330, A340, A350 XWB and the double-deck A380. Airbus also has cargo planes. Over 120,000 people work with Airbus.

Bombardier is a Canadian business jet manufacturer. Headquartered in Montreal, the company was founded in 1942. Bombardier is also one of the world’s biggest producers of aircraft but these aircrafts are much smaller then the commercial jets. Bombardier aircrafts are called Challenger 350, 3500, 650 Global 5500, 6500, 7500, and 8000. Close to 30,000 people work with Bombardier.

Embraer is the fourth largest aircraft manufacturer in the world. It is headquartered at Brazil, has close to 18000 employees, has delivered over 8000 aircrafts since its inception in 1969.  It manufactures aircraft for Commercial and Executive aviation, Defense & Security, and Agricultural customers. The company also provides after-sales services & support through a worldwide network of wholly-owned entities and authorized agents.

ATR Aircraft is another commercial but smaller aircraft manufacturer from Blagnac, France. The company is owned by Airbus and Leonardo. These aircrafts have turbo propellers and are used mainly for smaller hauls. ATR72 and ATR42 the most popular models.

Pilatus Aircrafts Ltd was founded in 1939. The company manufacturers the world’s most unique aircraft: from the legendary PC-12, the best-selling single-engine turboprop in its class, to the PC-7 MKX, PC-21 and the jet powered PC-24. The company is head quartered in Switzerland and has close to 2500 employees.

Textron Aviation owns and manufacturers large aviation brands like Beechcraft, Cessna and Hawker, the company claims to have sold half of all aircrafts sold world wide. The number stands at 250,000 of which 43,000 are Cessna 172. The company is headquartered at Kansas. Oklahoma, USA. They have close to 5000 employees and was founded in 1932.

Gulfstream Aerospace was founded in 1958 and have been manufacturing business jets since then. They have sold close to 5000 aircrafts and today close to 3000 are in service around the world. The parent company of Gulfstream Aerospace is General Dynamics. The main products include the super-midsize Gulfstream G280, the high-performing Gulfstream G650 and Gulfstream G650ER, and a next-generation family of aircraft including the all-new Gulfstream G400, the award-winning Gulfstream G500 and Gulfstream G600, the flagship Gulfstream G700 and the ultralong-range Gulfstream G800. Gulfstream Aerospace employs close to 19000 people.  

Viking Air was founded in 1970 in Canada. They have been manufacturing utility aircrafts and manufacturer of Series 400 and Guardian 400 Twin Otter aircraft, De Havilland Canada aircraft and the Canadair Amphibious Aerial Firefighting aircraft fleet. 

Korea Aerospace Industries Ltd makes fighter jets and helicopters in Korea.

Diamond Aircraft Industries is headquartered in Austria, Europe and was founded in 1981. Today Diamond Aircraft Industries has more than 1,000 employees worldwide and offers the most complete range of certified piston aircraft models: from the 2 seater DA20 and 7 seater DA62.

Piaggio Aerospace claims to be founded in 1884, close to 20 years before the Wright Brother took their first flight. The first aircraft was produced in 1915 in Italy and the company has been expanding globally since then.

Antonov is well known for its very large cargo aircrafts. The company was founded in by Mr Oleg Antonov (Chief Aricraft Designer) from Ukrainian in 1946. They have built and sold over 22,000 aircrafts.

Piper, Tecnam, ave their jet and turbo prop aircrafts approved in India.

Zenith Aircraft Co, Comco Ikarus GmbH, Evektor, Flight Design General Aviation GmbH and Bat Hawk are approved aircrafts in India. Parachutes, paramotors and gliders available in India are from Gin Gliders, Paratrike, Fly Products and many others.

And now we have reached the section, where we will discuss tire 1 vendors in aviation and aerospace like Honeywell Aerospace, Safran Group, RTX which includes Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney and Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman. Two large companies in India are Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and Bharat Electronics.
