Books on Aviation in India

Indian Aviation Industry is complex. And it has a long history. So there are lots of books.

The most popular or controversial book is “The Descent of Air India” by Jitender Bhargava. Original Version is was published in 2013 and is available at Rs 438 from Amazon. There is also a revised edition at Amazon at the same price of Rs 438 and this was published in 2014.

The most inspiring book is the story of Captain Gopinath and Air Deccan. The book is rightfully called Simply Fly and is available at Rs 389 on Amazon.

The latest and most popular book is “The Indigo Story” by Shelley Vishwajeet.

One book that is highly recommended for all aspiring pilots is Pilot’s Career Guide 2017 by Capt Shekhar Gupta and Niriha Khajanchi ₹329.57

Aviators Handbook Of Knowledge 2014 by Rajat Madan is also a must read at Rs 200

A Study About Aviation, 2021 by Rishiraj Singh Rathore ₹169.00

Aviation Wings by Arun Sharma and Gagandeep, 2019, Rs 599

A Career in the Sky by Megha Madan is another good book for careers in aviation.
